Mitigating the Effects of Desert dust-storms using Exposure-reduction Approaches (MEDEA)

Primary and co-primary Investigators: Novack V. (SUMC)

In 3 countries of South-Eastern Mediterranean, Cyprus, Greece & Israel (Life Medea Partners) with high desert dust pollution we aim to develop and apply models to timely forecast desert dust storm events, timely inform the public about the occurrence and magnitude of desert dust storms and design easy-to-implement and sustainable exposure-minimizing recommendations for individuals through minimizing time spent outdoors, avoiding physical activity, reducing home ventilation and using indoor air particle cleaners.
